New Moon in Aries Tarot Reading for the Collective

How can we be gentle with our fire?

This New Moon in Aries is actually the second New Moon in March, making it a rare Black Moon of powerful energy. Evolutionary Astrologer Sabrina Monarch shares in her weekly forecast on how this particular lunation is a time of confidence, self direction, and initiation. Aries is an archetype that goes first, learning through the self.

I have been thinking deeply upon our desire to be in context to the element of fire. My mind goes to burn out and so these questions frame this collective tarot spread.

In the video, I describe the imagery of the cards and go in-depth but if you’d like to get a general understanding, read below for the written summary!

Card 1: How can I be gentle with myself? Death

Death is a new cycle - be gentle with yourself at the start of a new cycle. While change has happened, it may not be over and done with. We shed our past self, the change is complete, but the impact is still being felt. We come to the end of an experience that has changed us, but we still need the time and space. The patience. Like the hermit crab, we are seeking a new environment that supports us. We are soft on the inside and naming our needs is protection in and of itself. Be patient during this time.

Card 2: What does my desire want me to know about my underlying needs? Seed of Wands

There is nothing wrong with being happy. You can hold your grief and your happiness simultaneously. Feeling one does not negate, diminish the other. There is a need to be joyful. The seed spirit of the child who is playful. Equally open to receive as to engage without attachment to the self. The child who speaks without a filter is not entitled or thoughtless, but expressing, coming into being. When they are given a new perspective, they continue. We can be both inner parent and inner child.

Card 3: How does my fire want to express itself? Two of Stones

Fire wants to be sustained and cared for. Fire is asking you to find your balance. Fire represents our drive, libido, will power, creativity, the impulse to do and go for it. Fire will do what it wants to do and it asks you to tend to and care for it. Determining what is your pleasure. Asking if you actually like what you are doing. You don’t need a lot of fire but you do need it.
